Essential protective steps for machine washing
Pre-treatment: Turn the garment or bedding completely inside out so the towel-embroidered pattern faces inward. Place the item in a fine-mesh laundry bag to prevent the loops from snagging on the washing machine drum, zippers, or Velcro fasteners from other garments.
Mode selection: Set the washing machine to the "Gentle," "Wool," or "Silk" cycle. Keep the spin speed below 600 RPM to avoid prolonged, high-speed agitation.
Detergent requirements: Use only neutral, mild liquid detergent. Do not use bleach or alkaline laundry powders, as these can corrode the embroidery thread, causing fading or making the loops brittle.
Situations where machine washing is not recommended
Items featuring large-scale, all-over towel embroidery or those made with delicate base fabrics like mesh or silk are prone to stretching and deformation during machine washing; gentle hand washing is the preferred method.
Towel embroidery combined with embellishments like beads or sequins requires caution; the sharp edges of sequins can snag and cut adjacent embroidery threads. Machine washing significantly increases the risk of unraveling, so hand washing and air-drying in the shade are recommended.
Hand-embroidered towel items have much lower thread-anchoring strength compared to machine-embroidered versions; they should never be machine washed. Gentle hand washing or dry cleaning is recommended.
